Can my boyfriend get out of our lease?

My boyfriend recently left me and our baby. Yay, Drama! Anyway, I live in Arizona and he moved back to Wyoming. We both lost our jobs back in Feburary however his parents were helping us financially and before he left, he made a committment to pay the rent to avoid breaking lease and having bad credit, however he's now going back on it due to an argument we had recently. he is threatening me saying he knows how to get himself off the lease and i'm wondering if that's true or if hes jsut calling my bluff. i spoke with my leasing office and they he absolutely no grounds to break the lease and he wouldnt even be able to sign himself off without physically being in arizona to do it and i would also have to sign with him. i googled it but couldnt find any answers. hes not military and has no legitimate reason for breaking it so why is he telling me he has a way out? can he really get himself off and leave me with all the responsibility? lastly, i have a found a way to pay through september but lease isnt up until november so he would need to pay those last two months. otherwise i wouldnt worry about it.
