How would i go about trying to get to know this man whom i am attracted to and want to talk to is there hope?

Hi,so friends pushed me to try dating sites after a divorce got married young and didn't work out,so i said i would try it reluctantly lol,didn't really find what i was looking for and then i came across someone i liked and sounded perfect for me i winked and sent a email saying i liked the profile and i heard nothing back from him,i should have said more but i would like to message again but what could i say?could i still get his interest or since i didn't hear back should i leave it alone,i really feel drawn to him any advice on what i could say to maybe start a friendship or more..?thank you
